The Field Services Department consists of field services staff members that operate and maintain the District’s piping system, known as a collection system. All together, the District’s collection system is comprised of approximately 200 miles of gravity pipelines ranging in size from 6 inches to 24 inches in diameter together with nearly 16 miles of force mains, 10 pump stations, and over 5,000 manholes. In order to maintain the entire system, the field service department uses various equipment and complex computer systems to clean, inspect, operate and repair it.
