LWD’s Human Resources and Administrative Services functions are performed primarily by the Director of Finance & Administration (DFA), the Administrative Services Supervisor, the Executive Assistant and the Administrative Specialist. Primary duties include advising the General Manager on human resources, administration, risk management and public information issues that affect the district and its employees. Specifically, the department supports employees by ensuring that the right people are in the right jobs and that they have the resources to perform their jobs safely. In addition, department staff also conducts salary and benefit reviews as well as annual employee training in a number of job and safety related areas. In a similar manner, our information systems and regulatory compliance initiatives allow us to efficiently serve the public using up-to- date technology while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
In addition, the Executive Assistant, working closely with the General Manager, also serves as the District’s Board Secretary providing administrative support to the Board of Directors. The Executive Assistant, along with other department staff, prepares and publishes agendas, manages LWD’s public records system and ensures that the Board conducts their duties in compliance with the Brown Act.
