Sewer Service Charges
Rates are based on the cost of collecting, transporting, and treating wastewater from homes and businesses within our service area. Our service rate also captures costs to replace aging infrastructure. Our rate is based on Equivalent Dwelling Units, or EDUs, which is equal to the typical water use in a single-family home. For property owners, fees are collected through property tax bills twice a year.
Effective July 1, 2024 the Residential Wastewater Service Charge per EDU (charged on property tax bills) is $43.08 per month or $516.96 per year.
Industrial and commercial waste is assessed using an EDU as a basis. The number of EDU’s assessed to commercial and industrial uses vary depending on the type and size of the business.
Capacity Fees and Miscellaneous
Capacity fees are charged to developers and individuals when connecting to the sewer system. The cost of future facilities is paid for by developers through the capacity fees.
The Commercial and Residential Capacity Fee, per Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU) is $6,240.
