Learn how fourth grade teacher Jennifer Smith from El Camino Creek Principal was awarded $1,998 to fund her classes’ “Water Conservation Strategy” project.
Students learned how pH affects nutrient absorption, how individual elements and minerals contribute to plant structure, and how conductivity is measured in a solution. Their program has been extended to other classes at their school with the purchase of a greenhouse and more efficient hydroponic system in order to grow with several classes at a time.
