Since we are officially in the fall season, below are some reminders from the District as we enter autumn! 🍂
💧Start capturing rainwater with a rain barrel to store water for later use! Using rain barrels can also help reduce rain runoff from flowing down your driveway, street and sidewalks. By capturing fresh rainwater in the barrel first, you minimize the chance of stormwater runoff picking up harmful pollutants that could reach our beaches and waterways. 💧With cozy weather approaching, there’s sure to be lots of cooking and baking with fats, oils, and grease (FOG). Remember to keep FOG and food waste out of your pipes by putting them in the trash can. Let FOG cool, pour it into a can, and seal it. Then dispose of the hardened can in the trash, and wipe FOG from pans with a paper towel, and toss it in the trash.
Thank you to local resident Ali Ashraf for this photo of some autumn leaves in our community.
