🌧️ It’s Storm Water Awareness Week! 🌧️
Did you know that storm water and wastewater are two different things? 🚰🌿 At Leucadia Wastewater District, we want to help our community understand the importance of keeping them separate!

• Storm water is rain that flows over streets and into storm drains, often picking up pollutants like oil, trash, and chemicals along the way. It flows directly to our creeks, rivers, and oceans without treatment.
• Wastewater, on the other hand, comes from inside our homes and businesses (think sinks, toilets, and showers) and is treated at a wastewater treatment plant before it’s released back into the ocean.

Keeping stormwater and wastewater separate helps protect our community from flooding, pollution, and health risks. 🚫💧

This week, let’s all do our part! Clean up after pets, properly dispose of hazardous materials, and remember—only rain down the storm drain! 🌧️♻️
